Signing bonuses, which can average between $25,000 and $30,000, and other compensations can impact the overall amount greatly. In 2004 average salaries for MBA's increased 21%. Investment banking graduates from top schools are in great demand and some financial investment companies are offering starting packages in the $200,000 range. Whether a degree from a prestigious school is worth the extra money is debated by the business community on a regular basis. Some have found that graduates from the top business schools may only earn an average of $2,000 a year more than those who graduate from smaller less well known schools and that the cost of the degree from a prestigious school may not be worth the extra money overall.
