Environmental Engineering is a diverse discipline, which focuses on innovative technology for reuse, recycle and recovery measures, as well as the biological, chemical and physical reactions in the land, air and water environments. The political system has also had a major impact on the discipline of environmental engineering, paving the way for comprehensive legislation and extensive regulations which are regularly reviewed and updated by various legislative bodies.

Engineers are hired in many different fields including aeronautics, bioengineering, chemical and biological engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, industrial engineering and mechanical engineering to name just a few. If you have an inclination towards science and math perhaps engineering is the career choice for you. College requirements vary for engineering programs but most require students to spend their first one to three years as pre-engineering majors completing the necessary curriculum. An Associate of Science degree is a two-year program. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is a four-year program. When you decide to obtain your engineering degree you'll be asked to choose an ndergraduate major in engineering. Most colleges offer internships and co-op opportunities which will allow patients to obtain paid work experience as they work on receiving their degrees.
